Sharon’ speech is getting a little better. She’s talking more and, every now and then, is able to get a whole sentence out. While visiting today, a nurse came in to do a routine blood pressure check. Her BP is 124/70. Yesterday she asked me to bring a new toothbrush, toothpaste and her favorite deodorant. She was very happy when I brought those things to her today. She also showed me a card and a basket of flowers from her step-mom, Wanda, in Tampa. Nice! She had also had a nice visit with our friend Patti M. Much appreciated!
Today, we were able to take a ride down to the first floor and spend a few minutes outside. This was her first time off the 6th floor since being admitted. It was a bit breezy, and after a couple of minutes she decided that she wanted to get back inside. (I think it was because the wind was blowing her hair around too much.)
More good news: Her diet has been adjusted so that she’s able to have soft food instead of having everything run through the blender.
Her right arm is still unresponsive, but she was able to move it a tiny bit while I was there. She’ll get it working again soon!
